Following an October 7 panel discussion on climate change adaptation and its impact on displacement, migration and planned relocation, the Brookings-LSE Project on Internal Displacement organized a roundtable for researchers and practitioners working on issues of climate change and human mobility.

This roundtable, which was a follow-up to the roundtable on climate change and displacement held at Brookings on March 15, allowed participants to discuss some of the issues raised during the panel discussion in greater detail, discuss possible developments related to the UN’s upcoming Climate Change Conference (COP 17) and the Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), and update each other on current and planned research and activities in the field.

Moderated by Elizabeth Ferris, the roundtable was wide-ranging, and included a combination of reporting on research initiatives underway and suggestions on how to strengthen cooperation related to climate change and human mobility.
