With a temporary cease-fire between Israel and Hamas expected to expire, and the crisis in Israel and Gaza having now lasted over 50 days, the war is transforming Israeli and Palestinian societies and their approaches to their decades-long conflict.
On November 30, the Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings hosted a virtual event with Brookings Distinguished Fellows former Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and former Israeli Ambassador Itamar Rabinovich, who discussed the paths forward from the current crisis. They were joined by Natan Sachs, director of the Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings, in a conversation moderated by Suzanne Maloney, vice president and director of the Foreign Policy program at Brookings.
