On December 5-7, the Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings hosted its 11th annual Saban Forum, titled “Stormy Seas: The United States and Israel in a Tumultuous Middle East.” This year’s Forum included webcasts featuring remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (via satellite), U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Isaac Herzog, Israeli chair of the Labor Party and leader of the opposition, and Naftali Bennett, Israeli Minister of Economy; Minister of Religious Services, Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs; Chairman, Jewish Home Party. Forum sessions focused on the future for Israelis and Palestinians, the nuclear negotiations with Iran and how Israel and the United States are coping with turmoil in Syria and the threat from ISIS.

Over the past 11 years, the Forum has served as a platform for unparalleled dialogue between American and Israeli officials, business executives, policymakers and thought leaders from across the political and social spectrum. As a result, the Saban Forum has become a seminal event, generating creative new ideas to address the issues confronting the United States and Israel in the Middle East.
