Brookings Centenary logoOne hundred years ago, our founding Board of Trustees and scholars opened the doors of the world’s first independent organization devoted to public-policy research. While we will find time to celebrate our history and honor our legacy, our energies are concentrated on the future.

Looking Forward

We have developed a new strategic plan, Brookings 2.0, which updates our role in a changing world and lays out goals for the coming years.

We are convening special events in Washington and beyond, and we are launching several new initiatives, including our Centennial Scholar Initiative, which fosters work that is cross-program, inter-disciplinary, international, and intensely focused on impact.

The Brookings Institution Press is reissuing, with fresh materials, Brookings Classics, a number of groundbreaking books from our past that are relevant to the issues of the day.

We have recently launched a new version of Brookings.edu, and we have redoubled our use of digital tools and social media to disseminate our work and engage with growing audiences, partners, and constituencies around the world, including at our three overseas centers at Beijing, Doha and New Delhi.

All of us at Brookings invite you to be part of our extended community as we discuss and debate ideas that matter and look for solutions that work.
