Health Policy Developments

Issue 3: Focus on Accountability, (De)centralization, Information Technologies

Reinhard Busse, Sophia Schlette
Release Date: August 1, 2005

This third volume in the International Health Policy Developments series takes a closer look at issues high on the health policy agenda in many industrialized countries, independent of their health care systems. The public call for more transparency and participation in decision-making, the search for the most appropriate level of decision-making and health service delivery, and the use of information technology in the management and provision of health care are discussed. In addition, the Newsflash chapter follows up on issues from earlier survey rounds.

The International Network for Health Policy & Reform aims to narrow the gap between health services research and health policy. Network partners are research institutions and health policy experts from 16 industrialized countries.
