This study explains how quality of life indicators can be implemented as part of a comprehensive concept of strategic management, and as a result help to strengthen the long-term viability and effectiveness of local government.
The quality of life program requires participation and cooperation of all stakeholders: mayor, council members, administrative staff, and citizens. Through involvement in the strategic management process, stakeholders become “owners” of their city’s vision and targets , as well as owners, of the concept of quality of life indicators.
