Help Strengthen Yemen’s Weak Government to Fight al Qaeda

Following the recent attempted terrorists attack that originated in Yemen, Bruce Riedel, senior fellow at the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings, says that the country’s government is weak and struggling with problems such as lack of water and an expanding population. Riedel says that these challenges make the threat of al Qaeda seem relatively minor to the Yemeni government.
