Sarah Kaplan

Climate reporter – Washington Post

Sarah Kaplan is a climate journalist at The Washington Post covering life in a warming world. Her reporting on climate science and extreme weather has taken her from the imperiled sea ice off the coast of Alaska, to communities ravaged by hurricanes and wildfires and the United Nations climate conference in Glasgow. She is a member of the National Association of Science Writers and the Society for Environmental Journalists and has won awards from the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Geophysical Union and the National Press Foundation. A Brooklyn native, Kaplan credits her lifelong love of the New York Mets with preparing her for the disappointment, heartbreak and occasional bursts of hope that come with covering climate change.
