15 years after China resumed sovereignty over Hong Kong, specific events and long-term trends are helping create a rising tide of anti-Beijing sentiment. Ray Yep writes that a larger segment of Hong Kong society is beginning to view direct confrontation with Beijing as the most effective way of advancing Hong Kong’s interests, and that tension between the SAR and the central government is likely to increase.
