As the United States and the United Kingdom mark the 50th anniversary of the Mutual Defense Agreement, Brookings President Strobe Talbott welcomed the Rt Hon Des Browne MP, British secretary of state for defence, who commented on the enduring partnership and responsibilities between the two global powers. Daniel Benjamin, director of the Center on the United States and Europe at Brookings, moderated the discussion.
