Summary

Australia has been one of America's most stalwart allies, as evidenced by its support in the two wars in Iraq. Increasingly, Australia is becoming a part of East Asian region. It has played a key role in the formation of APEC, the Cambodian peace process, independence for East Timor, and counter-terrorism in Southeast Asia. Australia has become a major supplier of raw materials to China. And most recently, Australia has participated in the East Asia Summit.
