Presidential Transition (2008-09)

The Presidential Transition Project at Brookings aimed to provide informed policy analysis and recommendations to the incoming 44th president of the United States, whoever he may have been. The project conducted a number of activities, including a series of public events; a series of memos to the president on key policy issues; transition chats and papers; and a series from presidential expert Stephen Hess on what an incoming administration needs to do to succeed.

Brookings now is conducting Campaign 2012, a project that identifies and addresses the 12 most crucial policy challenges facing the next president in the months leading up to Election Day in November.
