About the Advanced Industries Series

Launched in February 2013, the Advanced Industries (AI) Series calls attention to and analyzes the critical role that advanced industries—characterized by high-value engineering- and R&D-intensive industrial concerns—play in building and sustaining regional and national economic competitiveness. By working intensively with several emblematic state AI clusters to develop actionable economic development strategies to advance the clusters, the series seeks to highlight the value of AIs to national policymakers and so further regional and national prosperity in the United States.
