AI and National Security
The AI and National Security workstream has two core goals. The first is to understand the impact of AI on international and domestic security environments. How will AI shape great power competition, and how will it empower or undermine authoritarian regimes? The second is to develop guidelines and policy frameworks for the responsible use of AI by militaries—not only in lethal weapons systems, but in everything from logistics to command and control systems too. By offering actionable insights into the use and impact of AI in military contexts, the workstream strives to minimize the risks of the technology while harnessing its benefits to secure a more peaceful and democratic world.
