Lillian Beaudet is a Research Intern with the Center for Economic Security and Opportunity at Brookings. She holds a B.A. in Economics with Honors from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and is currently pursuing UMBC’s accelerated master’s program in Economic Policy Analysis.
As a research assistant in UMBC’s Department of Economics, she conducted panel data analysis on government expenditure and tax revenue, contributing to empirical research on the Ricardian equivalence and twin deficit hypotheses to model the effects of government spending on GDP. Her master’s thesis turns to environmental economics, modeling carbon damage functions. She has also served as a teaching assistant for Econometrics and Intermediate Microeconomics, and volunteers as an IRS-certified tax preparer through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, preparing federal and state returns for low-income households in the Baltimore area.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of fiscal policy, environmental economics, carbon markets, and applied econometrics.
