Roads, Rails, and Beyond: Implications and Opportunities for Metropolitan America

America’s metropolitan areas are hampered by a series of transportation challenges that is threatening their ability to remain healthy and vital and is sending warning signals concerning the U.S. role in the global economy. Unfortunately, transportation policies designed to deal with these challenges are either outdated, absent and aspatial, or compartmentalized.
