‘Global India’ podcast examines India-China relations

[Washington D.C.] – As the world’s most populous country and one of the fastest growing economies on the planet, India plays a pivotal role in shaping the geopolitical landscape. The choices it makes will have implications for the United States, and other countries. “Global India,” a new podcast from the Brookings Institution, delves into India’s complex foreign policy and provides experts and new learners alike with valuable insights and analysis on India’s evolving role in the international arena.

“If you’re curious about India’s foreign policy and want to understand whether there’ll be a détente between China and India, or what explains India’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, this is the podcast for you,” says host Tanvi Madan, a senior fellow and expert on Indian foreign policy in the Center for East Asia Policy Studies at Brookings, “We will be delving into India’s role on the global stage and the factors that influence its foreign policy decisions.”

The first season will focus on the complicated and dynamic relationship between two of the world’s most influential nations: India and China. Listeners and viewers can expect a comprehensive exploration of the historical, strategic, economic, military, and technology-related aspects of this crucial bilateral relationship through in-depth discussions with leading academics and policy experts.
