U.S. Foreign Assistance to Africa: Claims vs. Reality

Brookings Institution senior fellow Susan Rice held a media conference call to release her analysis of U.S. aid to Africa. While President Bush has publicly claimed that aid to Africa has tripled, the Brookings analysis concludes that the increase, while laudable, has been much less, even as President Bush has so far rejected Prime Minister Blair’s call to double aid to Africa.
