The Israeli-Palestinian Crisis in the Shadow of Iraq

Thursday, September 11 -
The Brookings Institution
Falk Auditorium

1775 Massachusetts Ave., NW
Washington, DC

The political process between Israelis and Palestinians looks increasingly moribund. The Bush Administration’s Road Map appears to be approaching a dead end, and the unraveling Palestinian cease-fire has led to a wave of Palestinian attacks and Israeli reprisals. As events in Iraq continue to preoccupy the United States and the international community, Israelis and Palestinians fear that their own crisis will be neglected.

To discuss the current options for rejuvenating the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, the Saban Center for Middle East Policy hosted a special luncheon discussion with The Honorable Shimon Peres MK, former Prime Minister and current head of the Labor Party and Leader of the Opposition in the Israeli Knesset.
