The special election in California and the beginning of the recall process in Wisconsin are only the start of what promises to a be a wild, hyper-partisan election cycle with new forces at work, from super-spending Super PACs to new uses for social media. How many of the old rules of politics will still apply, and what new ground will be broken in the months to come? Which party has the advantage going into the Senate and House races? How will the presidential race affect local races?
