As conflicts and natural disasters displace an increasing number of children, how should the international community protect these children’s right to education? To what extent should humanitarian and development actors provide education in emergency situations, especially given competing aid priorities? Should education be considered a protection measure?
On Wednesday, November 19, from 3:00pm-4:30pm, the Brookings-Bern Project on Internal Displacement hosted a round-table with experts in education and humanitarian action. These experts will provide their perspectives on both the progress and the continuing challenges of providing education in emergencies.
