The Recent Commentaries about the Nature and Application of the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement is a collection of recent papers which explore the evolution of the Guiding Principles as a normative framework for action as well as a document based on legally-binding international law. It includes contributions from Walter Kälin, an international legal specialist with expertise on the Guiding Principles, Francis M. Deng, the Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Internally Displaced Persons, and Roberta Cohen, Co-director of the Brookings-SAIS Project on Internal Displacement.
