There is little doubt that the invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 initially decimated al Qaeda. Almost six years later, al Qaeda is back with a base of operations on the Afghanistan/Pakistan border as well as an expanding reach throughout Iraq, the Middle East and North Africa. Senior Fellow Bruce Riedel explores the resurgence of al Qaeda and their evolving tactics in this interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
