One Year Later: Al Qaeda in Afghanistan after Bin Laden

In the year since al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. special operations forces, the situation in Afghanistan has shifted. Afghan military and police forces are stronger, there are positive changes in the government and shallow roots of democracy are taking hold. Michael O’Hanlon says the focus now is to ensure that the good work continues.
