Tracy Wolstencroft is a Senior Advisor to TPG Rise Climate, TPG’s global investment platform advancing scalable climate solutions to meet the world’s rising energy demand. He has served in this role since the platform’s launch in 2021.
He draws on over 40 years of senior leadership experience at leading institutions including as a longstanding Partner at Goldman Sachs, President and CEO of Heidrick & Struggles, and President and CEO of the National Geographic Society.
During twenty-five years at Goldman Sachs, he served on the firm’s Partnership Committee and led investment banking franchises across Asia, Latin America, and the United States. At Heidrick & Struggles, he drove a strategic and cultural transformation that expanded the firm’s global C-suite and board practice while launching Heidrick Consulting. At the National Geographic Society, he served as a trustee for ten years before becoming CEO during a pivotal period when the organization’s mission, financial sustainability, and global media presence were strengthened through its innovative joint venture with The Walt Disney Company.
Mr. Wolstencroft currently serves on the boards of several TPG Rise Climate portfolio companies, including two startups: Hybar, a green steel manufacturing platform, and Rubicon Carbon, a carbon market solutions company. He is Chair Emeritus of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Vice Chair of Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy, and a trustee of the Brookings Institution, Bowdoin College, and the American Academy in Rome. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
He and his family have lived throughout Asia and now reside in the New York metropolitan area.
