Loren Adler is a fellow and associate director at the Brookings Institution’s Center on Health Policy. He serves as an associate editor of Health Affairs Scholar. His research spans health care economics and policy, including private equity and payer acquisitions of physician practices, surprise billing, Medicare Advantage, and prescription drug pricing. Previously, he was research director at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and a senior policy analyst at the Bipartisan Policy Center. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematical economics from Wesleyan University and an M.S. in applied economics from Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Adler serves as an expert witness in matters involving ambulance billing.
