Jared Silverman

Cmdr. Silverman joined the Coast Guard in 2000, when he reported as a cadet to the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. Upon graduation in 2004, he began his career as a “cutterman” serving aboard six ships and commanding two of them. Most recently he was the commanding officer of USCGC ESCANABA (WMEC 907) homeported in Portsmouth, Virginia. When not serving afloat, he has had tours back at the Coast Guard Academy, mentoring and leading future officers and at Coast Guard Head Quarters in Washington, D.C., in Officer Personnel Management at the Personnel Service Center, where he was the special and support assignment officer and then the Officer Career Management branch chief.
