Bethany Krupicka is a research analyst at Brookings Metro’s Bass Center for Transformative Placemaking, where she focuses on place-based economic development, public safety, and the intersection between the two. She also manages Placemaking Postcards, a blog series highlighting “voices from the field,” which invites practitioners to write pieces on innovative, community-centered placemaking practices. 

Krupicka earned her Master of Science in city design and social science from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to Brookings, she served as an EMT in Chicago, a role she continues in a volunteer capacity in Prince George’s County, Md.
