The Summit for American Prosperity Presentations

The Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution recently launched an ambitious, multi-year initiative to build long-term U.S. prosperity by reinvigorating the federal role in promoting the health and vitality of America’s urban clusters.

Bruce Katz, vice president and director of the Metropolitan Policy Program at Brookings, presented a new framework for improving the federal partnership with states and metropolitan areas. Rob Puentes explored a new plan to overhaul U.S. transportation policy to meet the needs of the 21st century economy. This included a discussion of the key economic, environmental challenges facing metro areas, the flaws in the current federal policy response and recommendations for a new, unified, and competitive vision for federal transportation policy.
