Summary

On March 25, 2011, Brookings held a one-day forum in New York City, moderated by NBC’s David Gregory, to analyze U.S. interests in the Middle East and North Africa in the wake of the revolutions that have swept the region.

The forum—Revolution in the Arab World: Political and Financial Implications—brought together scholars from the Saban Center for Middle East Policy, the Brookings Doha Center, and the Foreign Policy Program of Brookings, along with Brookings Trustees David Rubenstein and Dan Yergin, and Egyptian opposition leaders Esraa Abdel Fattah and Naguib Sawiris.  The proceedings present summaries of the sessions and an analysis piece based on the discussions.
