The Brookings Debate

The Brookings Debate is an event series that primarily features Brookings experts debating today’s most critical issues. Modeled after the Oxford Union format, each debate focuses on a single, controversial question, with two speakers for and against. Speakers outline their arguments, an external moderator presides, and a diverse audience is polled before and after the event to see how our scholars are affecting public opinion.
