Do you have an idea for an international-scale action that would help advance a specific dimension of one of the world’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals? If so, we encourage you to submit your idea for a future 17 Rooms annual flagship process. We are looking for ideas that require cooperative action over a 12–18-month horizon.

ABOUT the 17 Rooms Flagship
Developed through a partnership between the Center for Sustainable Development at Brookings and The Rockefeller Foundation, 17 Rooms is a novel approach for advancing the economic, social, and environmental priorities embedded in the world’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It offers a neutral and creative space where leaders from different sectors and backgrounds can connect to collaborate and carry forward decisive next steps for the SDGs. Seventeen working groups, or “Rooms,” (one per SDG) come together to advance action within each Goal, while expanding opportunities for collaboration across Goals. Each Room of typically 10-15 Members identifies one-to-three actions to take over the next 12-18 months. The 17 Rooms Secretariat offers logistical and substantive support.
The annual flagship process launches each year in May, with a kick-off virtual event and initial Room meetings. Rooms then meet at their own pace in June and July. During a virtual annual summit in September, Rooms connect and exchange insights to strengthen their respective action plans. Each Room then shifts to advancing its action agenda over the following year.
