Islam et laïcité sont compatibles

Justin Vaïsse and Olivier Roy argue that the special convention scheduled this year by France’s UMP on the topic of “Secularism and Islam’s Place in the Republic” comes 10 to 15 years too late. During this period, many of the problems related to the practice of Islam in France were solved, and Muslims have become well integrated into French society. According to Vaïsse and Roy, there is a striking discrepancy between the demonstrations for secular democracy in North Africa and the stigmatization of Muslims throughout Europe.
