London launch of Improving Global Drug Policy: Comparative Perspectives and UNGASS 2016

On June 19th, 2015, at the International Institute for Security Studies in London, Vanda Felbab-Brown and a panel of experts analyzed the effectiveness of global counternarcotics policies ahead of the 2016 Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly on the World Drug Problem (UNGASS 2016). Felbab-Brown concluded the event with recommendations for drug policies to focus on degrading organized crime, prioritizing violence reductions in the distribution market, and socioeconomic approaches for marginalized populations.
