The state of broadband at IIJA’s one-year anniversary

Thursday, December 15, 2022

It has been a landmark year for federal infrastructure policy, and no sector experienced a more significant shift in Washington’s attention than broadband. Now, as the historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) reaches its one-year anniversary, it’s important to take stock of how the law’s broadband policies are impacting communities across the country.

On Thursday, December 15, Brookings Metro will host an event examining IIJA’s major policy programs, its progress in addressing the digital divide, and what states, local governments, and their private and civic counterparts can do to deliver universal broadband access and adoption.

Online viewers can submit questions by emailing events@brookings.edu or tweeting @BrookingsMetro using #StateofBroadband.

If you are attending in person, Brookings requires all staff and visitors to show proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 via vaccines approved by the FDA or WHO.
