In his latest work, Rediscovering Values–On Wall Street, Main Street, and Your Street–A Moral Compass for the New Economy (Howard Books, 2010), one of the country’s most prolific writers on religion and public life argues that as a society we’ve been asking the wrong questions about the recent economic crisis. Instead of focusing on when the economy will recover and how much wealth has been lost, Rev. Jim Wallis instead asks that we question how the economic downturn has changed us.

On January 11, Senior Fellow E.J. Dionne moderated a discussion with Rev. Wallis, president and CEO of Sojourners, on his new book and how various religious traditions offer valuable correctives on how to get us on a firmer path to economic recovery.

After the program, Dionne and Wallis took audience questions.
