In his new book, “An Argument Open to All: Reading ‘The Federalist’ in the 21st Century,” Sanford Levinson explores the enduring relevance of the Federalist Papers. Levinson’s collection of eighty-five short essays considers the political insights of each essay in The Federalist and its applicability to governance in the 21st century.

On December 16, Governance Studies at Brookings will host a discussion of Levinson’s book. This event is part of the long-running Governing Ideas book series, which is hosted by Brookings Senior Fellow William A. Galston. After a presentation by Levinson and commentary from former member of Congress Mickey Edwards, panelists will take audience questions. Books will be available for sale before and after the event.
