Cross-Strait tensions are elevated. How is Beijing’s growing pressure being felt in Taiwan? How is the Tsai administration responding? What impact — if any — will such friction have on local elections in Taiwan this fall?

On September 6, the Brookings Institution will host Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) Chiu Tai-san for keynote remarks on the MAC’s observations of the current situation in cross-Strait relations. Following Minister Chiu’s remarks, Brookings Senior Fellow Ryan Hass will join Minister Chiu in conversation before opening up to the audience for questions.

Online viewers can submit questions via e-mail to events@brookings.edu or via Twitter at #CrossStrait.
