In Iraq’s upcoming parliamentary elections, a key issue will be the relationship between Baghdad and the regional government in Kurdistan. On January 27, the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings hosted Masoud Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, to discuss the elections, the Kurdish relationship with the Iraqi government, and the U.S. role in promoting stability in Iraq.
