Lisa Schweitzer

Lisa Schweitzer is assistant professor in the School of Policy, Planning, and Development at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. Dr. Schweitzer’s research addresses transportation, urban environments, and social justice, and her recent projects evaluate the distribution of social and economic opportunities and the location of environmental hazards. Her work has appeared in a wide range of planning and interdisciplinary journals. She is currently doing research on decision-making during evacuations and community resources for environmental security.

Dr. Schweitzer earned a BA in social work and economics, an MS in urban and regional planning, and an MA in economics, all from the University of Iowa, and a PhD in urban planning from the University of California, Los Angeles.
