Russia's Fragile Borderland

By Anna Matveeva

It assesses the main dilemmas for regional leaders and their policy responses. The author studies the dynamics within the region overall, between the republics of the Russian Federation and the Caucasus states, as well as the main tendencies in relations between these republics and the Russian federal authorities.
