U.S. an Exit Ramp Economy

At a recent event, Bruce Katz discussed the decentralization of employment and how it has affected the daily commutes of Americans. With gas prices on the rise again, commuting is becoming more and more expensive.

He argued that “Commuting in the U.S. from home to work has become an heroic act as more people are commuting further and further to their jobs … this is becoming a burden many families cannot afford.”
