Three public events in the next two weeks focus on three recent titles from the Brookings Institution Press.

political dynasties_2x3NPR and ABC News political commentator Cokie Roberts joins Brookings Senior Fellow emeritus Stephen Hess for a conversation about his new book, “America’s Political Dynasties: From Adams to Clinton.” In this new edition of his classic work, Hess offers a tour of the families that have dominated the American political scene.

OHANLONLand WarfareIn his new book, “The Future of Land Warfare,” Senior Fellow Michael O’Hanlon offers illustrative scenarios in which large, conventional ground forces may still be necessary. O’Hanlon will be joined by David Ignatius of the Washington Post and former Central Command commander David Petraeus for the discussion.

social ethics_2x3The John L. Thornton China Center at Brookings hosts He Huaihong for remarks and a panel discussion of his new book, “Social Ethics in a Changing China: Moral Decay or Ethical Awakening?” In the book, Professor He explores the current state of ethics and morality in China.
