H.E. Erna Solberg

Prime Minister – Kingdom of Norway

H.E. Erna Solberg has been Prime Minister of Norway since 2013 and leader of the Conservative Party since 2004. She has represented the Conservative Party in the County of Hordaland at the Storting (Norwegian parliament) since 1989. Solberg was Minister of Local Government and Regional Development from 2001-05, in Prime Minister Bondevik’s Second Government. After the subsequent change of government, she became the Conservative Party’s parliamentary leader.

Solberg has previously been a member of the Storting’s standing committees on Foreign and Defense Affairs, Finance and Local Government, Health and Care Services, the Electoral Committee and head of the delegation to NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly. Solberg received a university degree in sociology, political science, statistics and economy from the University of Bergen in 1986.
