A climate report released by the United Nation's (UN) Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), predicts that unless humans make immediate changes to limit methane emissions, carbon dioxides and other heat-trapping gases, the earth will continue to warm with devastating effects on human and animal life. India would face similar impacts in addition to the frequent occurrence of glacial lake bursts in the Himalayan region and inundation of low-lying coastal areas.
