8-Mar-05 —
Rebecca Blash presented an update of the work NICS has done regarding the importance and challenges to metadata development. This presentation was given for the monthly meeting of the FedStats Task Force, a council of leaders from the 14 primary federal agencies whose primary responsibility is the production of statistics. The group, formally known as the Federal Interagency Council on Statistical Policy (FedStats), meets monthly to discuss issues to meet their legal mandate to coordinate work across the federal statistical agencies, to provide the public greater access to information produced by over 100 government agencies in an efficient manner while protecting confidentiality and privacy.
