Delaware has one of the nation’s 100 largest metropolitan areas—Philadelphia—which alone accounts for 62 percent of the state’s population, 68 percent of the state’s jobs, and 58 percent of the state’s gross domestic product (GDP). All two of Delaware’s metros constitute 79 percent of the state’s population, 83 percent of the state’s jobs, and 67 percent of the state’s GDP.
