Arizona

Arizona has two of the nation’s 100 largest metropolitan areas—Phoenix and Tucson—which alone account for 81 percent of the state’s population, 85 percent of the state’s jobs, and 88 percent of the state’s gross domestic product (GDP). All five of Arizona’s metros constitute 89 percent of the state’s population, 93 percent of the state’s jobs, and 94 percent of the state’s GDP.
