This project was completed in August 1998 and resulted in the book Atomic Audit: The Costs and Consequences of U.S. Nuclear Weapons Since 1940 edited by Stephen I. Schwartz. These project pages are only occassionally updated and should be considered historical.

Redstone Ballistic Missile (PGM-11A)



The Redstone missile (seen here at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, September 9, 1957) was deployed between 1958 and 1964 and carried a nuclear warhead with a yield of either 425 kilotons or 3.8 megatons. The Redstone was some 69 feet (21 meters) tall and was liquid-fueled.
