Noah Shachtman

Nonresident Fellow, Foreign Policy, 21st Century Defense Initiative

Noah Shachtman is a contributing editor at Wired magazine, and the editor of its national security blog, Danger Room. He has reported from Afghanistan, Israel, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, the Pentagon, Los Alamos, and from military bases around the country. He has written about technology and national security for The New York Times Magazine, Slate, Foreign Policy, and The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, among others.

Shachtman has spoken before audiences at West Point, the Army Command and General Staff College, the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference, the Air Force Cyber Symposium, the U.S. Strategic Command Cyber Symposium, and the National Defense University. The offices of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence, the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, and the Director of National Intelligence have all asked him to contribute to discussions on cyber security, information operations, and emerging threats. The Associated Press, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, PBS, and NPR have looked to him to provide insight on military developments.
